Here, some further points can usefully be considered. GD01, for instance, has direct clients per year; he prefers direct clients, because they help to create connections and to enlarge the network of clients.
In more recent years, the continued strengthening of the unions’ role in the Confederation has gone hand in hand with the increasingly marked swing of the Italian economy towards the tertiary sector.
The market itself has changed over the years.
Who we are
GD02 attended an arts institute, graduated in foreign languages, curriculum in arts history and, then, she went abroad, where she started working as an intern in some graphic design firms; later, she started her own business in Italy and, today, after another period of work abroad, is a freelancer in Milan.
This latter is a cross-sectoral association that represents 5, companies based in the metropolitan area of Milan, employing a total ofworkers. There follows a description of the CCIs, based on the data provided by Fondazione Symbola and Unioncamerefocusing on what is called cultural core and, par- ticularly, on two sectors that will be studied in depth in the second part of this report, namely graphic design and video game development. These actors have differential weights in the sectors that form the CCIs, depending on the prevailing types of companies and forms of employment.
As we will see in the second part, the design industry is composed of several sub-sectors, which rely on different markets; in this context, graphic confcomjercio is a relevant industry, which has to do basically with graphic and visual communication. Moreover, it is important to note that, even in traditionally highly organised sectors, such as journalists, younger workers are significantly less likely to be union- ized. GD06, for example, de- clared that his decision to resign from the large design firm where he was employed until few months ago was due to lack of planning.
A supplementary agreement, then, has been signed that will extend some provisions e. ACTA, again, launched a campaign called Bandi Bassotti7, to encourage its members to report cases of unfair open competitions, which still required that all participants were registered in the register of enterprises at the Chamber of Commerce, hence ex- cluding freelancers, and violating the EU regulations. In creative industries, instead, there is a prev- alence of freelance professionals.
These are concentrated in books, printing and publishing Both sectors are in fact covered by two industry-wide agreements, signed terziadio the sectoral structures of Confapi small manufacturing companies and of CNA, Confartigianato, Casartigiani and CLAAI craftsrespectively.
A year later, the same organisations signed an agreement with INPS, which assigned this latter the task to collect data, and gave the National Council for Economics and Labour CNEL the responsibility for measuring and certifying representativeness.
